Loft is popular with locals and tourists alike for its rooftop terrace and bar, an excellent suntrap on those rare sunny days. Happy hour is everyday from 3 -7 pm, and Wine Wednesday gives you 20% off wine the whole day.

Please note that children under 12 are not allowed to stay in shared dorms. Children over 12 years old can stay in shared dorms when travelling with a guardian.

The Check-in time is at 3 pm, and check-out time is at 11 am.

In the area:

  • Walk up the lively street to Hallgrímskirkja Church. If you are not too afraid of heights take the elevator up to the top of the tower and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of our colorful city.
  • Explore Reykjavik‘s many museums- the Settlement Exhibition, the National Museum, and the Punk Museum are all on your doorstep.
  • Walk along the coastline and admire the Harpa Concert Hall, Sun Voyager Sculpture, and Höfði House.
  • Sample some of the best food Iceland has to offer at one of the newly opened food halls. Close to us, you will find Hlemmur Food Hall and Grandi Food Hall offering exciting dishes from all over the world using the best local ingredients.

How to get there?

Loft is located in the city center, on Reykjavík's main shopping street, and steps away from most of Reykjavík's social areas and attractions.

Public transport: The closest local bus stop is “Laekjartorg” at Lækjargata. The schedules and routes of the local Reykjavík City Bus can be found on www.bus.is.
Reykjavík Bus Central Station (BSÍ) is within walking distance.

Parking: Loft Hostel is located in area P1, where the parking fee is 600kr per hour from 09:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 21:00 on weekends. The minimum parking duration is 3 hours. We recommend using Traðakot, the closest parking house, where the first hour is 260kr then 130kr per hour.

To and from Keflavík Airport (50 km): FlyBus and Airport Express run to a schedule connecting with every flight, and will drop you off at the hostel / the airport upon request.
