Vagnsstaðir HI Hostel

At the heart of Vatnajökull national park, Vagnsstaðir Hostel is the ideal place to get face to face with the glaciers. Conveniently located just off the ring road, this hostel makes for the perfect base for exploring or strolling along the coast. The glass dining room makes for a great place to soak up the midnight sun or watch the northern lights, and the kitchen has everything you’ll need for a hot meal.

In the area:

• The Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon is a short drive away, and is one of Iceland‘s most popular attractions.
• Glacier Jeeps is located at the hostel and offers hikes and ATV tours on the glacier.
• The pristine Skaftafell nature reserve has many hikes, both long and short. It is also home to Svartifoss, a waterfall with unique basalt columns.
