Eyrarbakki HI Hostel

Take time off from the busy ring road and take in the breeze of the Atlantic ocean while immersing yourself in Icelandic culture and history. The coastal village of Eyrarbakki offers a quiet retreat while remaining conveniently close to some of the best spots Iceland has to offer- enjoy hiking routes or horseback riding on the black beaches, kayaking in the lagoons or expeditions into a lava tube cave system. Eyrarbakki is perfect for solo travellers or groups, with modern fittings and a large kitchen- perfect for a big meal at the end of a long day.

  • The hostel is conveniently located for going on a day tour of the ever popular Golden Circle.
  • Take a short stroll along the sea and check out Húsið- the house- which is one of Iceland´s oldest houses, built in 1765.
  • Drive along the coast to explore the many geological wonders of the Reykjanes peninsula, including the Blue Lagoon and the Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark.
  • The area is known for its horse farms and there are a number of different horse riding tours available.
