Super Jeep, ice climbing and a glacier walk with a well-trained local guide
Starting point for this tour is in South East Iceland
In this ice climbing tour, with a local guide from Hali, you will experience the magical wonders of Vatnajökull glacier. This tour has a maximum of 4 participants to make sure each and every one can enjoy the climbing part of the trip. The trip starts at Hali, from where your guide drives you to the glacier area.
After a 4x4 drive to the glacier area you will take a short boat trip (4 minutes) to where the ice climbing tour starts. As you walk in the stunning surroundings of Vatnajökull National Park, with many unique photo opportunities, your guide takes you through the region's history, from its first settlement until present day.
The tour is intended for those who want to spend half a day outside walking, climbing the ice, talking and creating unforgettable memories with friends and family. The tour takes approximately 3 hours (1.5-2 hours on the glacier), including the drive back and forth from our pick up location at Hali. This tour is moderated and can be done by most travellers. You do not have to have ice climbing experience for this tour and we can adjust the climbing part to the group's ability, from easy to extreme.
