A hiking map can be bought at the Hostel. Reyðarfjörður was the second largest of the Allied bases in Iceland during World War II and in the old camp above the town is a highly interesting museum on WWII and life in Iceland during the war. The Hostel owners a have boat and sometimes invite the guests to go for a fishing trip and to admire the mountains from sea.
