The Golden Circle & Fontana Steam Bath
You visit three of Iceland´s most famous places - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir National Park.
We also make a stop in Laugarvatn, a small village that sits on the banks of a lake by the same name. The town is famous for its natural sauna, built above a real live hot spring. The original sauna was built in the 1920s and was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the hot spring that bubbles and gurgles below your feet. Today, however, it takes pride of place in the über-modern Fontana Laugarvatn, and is complemented by a dry sauna plus hot tubs of varying temperatures and descriptions.
A visit to this amazing natural sauna is something that all visitors to Iceland should get to experience. Afterwards, you are escorted to a country gallery where you are welcomed by hot spring baked rye bread with smoked local trout.
