Directions

Location:		Downtown. In the center of everything.

Parking:		Metered street parking is available in front of the hostel, and there are a few larger metered lots throughout the city. Rates vary by location.

Bus:		The closest local Bus Station is “Laekjartorg” at Lækjargata. The schedules and routes of the local Reykjavik City Bus can be found on www.bus.is Reykjavík Bus Central Station (BSI) is within walking distance. The Schedules and more information on busses operating by various companies to most corners of the country, can be found at www.bsi.is.

Airport:		Transportation from the airport is via the Fly Bus, a service which connects with every incoming flight and delivers you to our doorstep. A return service is available as well, and can be arranged the day before your departure from the hostel reception. There will always be somebody on duty for check-in, regardless of arrival time.

Attractions

As to be expected there are many attractions at the state's capital, Reykjavík. Here we have decided to focus more on the surroundings of Reykjavík Downtown Hostels and all the activities mentioned below are in a nice walking distance from the hostel:

Whale Watching

A mere 4 minutes walk from the hostel, at least two whale watching companies wait to welcome you aboard. An amazing success rate in whale spotting makes it a very feasible option.

Second hand clothing

In Garðarstræti, just around the corner from the Downtown hostel, you will find the Salvation Army's clothing store. Timeless gems at bargain prices.

Austurvöllur square

In good weather the Austurvöllur square is filled with people of all ages. It's the perfect place for a picnic lunch or a game of hackysack.

A feast for the taste buds

The downtown area is crowded with all kinds of restaurants suited for all budgets. If hungry, walk any direction for a few minutes and you will find something to eat.

Reykjavík Flea Market

The flea market, Kolaportið, has everything one would want. There's a food court with local delicacies such as shark and flatkökur, second hand clothing booths, Icelandic woolen sweaters and designer jewelery.

Groups

At the Reykjavík hostels we can accommodate groups from as little as 10 people to 100 people.
